We introduce Micro-class yacht "ELEKTRA 18" of
Yacht Center "Admiral Ushakov" company.
MICRO-class yachts are officially acknowledged class in the international sailing community ISAF and belong to a category of "trailer" yachts. This class of yachts was planned by the French as "the first family cruiser" class affordable and economical in operation.
These boats immediately gained much popularity because of the possibility to travel and to race as well as transport them on a car trailer behind a car.

The boat flooded with water does not sink and does not take water in the hatches when it lies with the mast on the water. Yacht Electra 18 belongs to the category "C" and is suitable for coastal voyages when the wind is of force 6 (up to 17 m/s) and the height of the waves is up to 2 meters.
Rigging 9 / 10. Outboard motor 2.5-5 liters but no more than 23 kg. Upon condition that: the weight of the trailer + yacht is less than 750 kg towage is possible witht category "B" in license. The yacht has a bowsprit and completely suitable for both race weekends and long cruising trips. This is your first family cruiser.
Today it is the most common and convenient class of yachts for Russia.
Project of yacht "ELECTRA 18" is completely original and developed in design bureau of YC "Admiral Ushakov" by designer Alexander Cherezovs involving leading sailors-racers, using special computer programs, taking into account views of many Russian such class yacht owners. The whole layout of the boat is made in a view of maximum use of the internal volume. The ultimate goal of designers was to create a Micro-class yacht, designed both for Russian and European markets and suitable as for racing and for long family trips.
At the project level, quality of manufacturing, set, comfort and security we refer the boat to a "premium class". The company's mission is to bring to the market a quality Product, for those who value time, money and quality even in little things. "ELEKTRA18" is the only Russian project of a sailing yacht which runs the full procedure of international and Russian certification of boat and manufacture.
Each yacht ELECTRA excellently combines design, quality and dynamic of motion. The combination, turning shape into passion, functionality into comfort and power of the sails into majestic cruise sportiness.
Yacht "ELEKTRA 18" has a lot of differential characteristics:
1. Durability of the hull is determined by used materials:
- decorative layer is made of gelcoat by ASHLAND company leading in this area.
- there is a "barriercoat" under the gelcoat - it is a new development in the glass-fiber shipbuilding, which performs a role of a skin layer and is a solid substrate under the decorative layer to prevent osmosis and cracking of gelcoat in case of knocks.
- the hull and the deck are made on the basis of vinyl ester resin, what significantly (65%) increases strength of the laminate
- application of "top-coat" layer on all internal surfaces makes the boat more "environmentally friendly" by preventing any release of resin vapors inside the hull
- in the plastic laminate powder binder glass material is applied what significantly improves the quality.
These are the best materials for today!
This combination of materials makes the hull 200-300% more resistant to osmosis in comparison with the boats made of usual materials. Yacht shipyards such as: HALBERGRASSY, SWAN, X-yacht use similar resins.
2. Strength of the hull is determined by a structure of the laminate and a set of eight frames and floors and six stringers, which in combination with the hull body is a rigid structure, what makes "ELEKTRA18" durable. All built-in furniture is also an element of the hull load-bearing unit. The cockpit is fully backed and does not "hanging in the air." There is a "collision bulkhead" in the nose. Yacht hulls made in the West for similar technologies and similar materials have an effective life 25-35 years.
3. Floatability compartments located in places that practically can not be used during a voyage (so-called "dead" zones). Their volume -750 liters and the location calculated with account of maintenance of different and reserve buoyancy in 175 l that keeps the boat afloat at the time of flooding. As a result in case of such internal layout arrangement we have 60% free of all standard lockers. By increasing a depth, original contours, interior volume, "ELEKTRA 18" if put the mast in the water, "does not take the water" to the open hatches and stands in a vertical position.
4. All standard equipment listed in the class rules is located for rapid and easy use, does not take an internal central space of the yacht, designed for crew members and their personal belongings and supplies.
For this purpose the hull design provides:
- the anchor compartment on the foredeck that is very convenient and made for the first time on a boat of this class
- there are two completely isolated lockers in a cockpit, 80 liters each, the locker has enough space for: a second anchor, mooring lines, fenders, bucket, jerrican or a tank of fuel, a small water tank, gas cylinder and other things that will not occupy space in a cabin.
- there is an adjustable bracket (pantograph) for an outboard engine on the transom that allows you to use any engine in a range of 2-8 l/s.
- there is a pump for bilge water pumping installed in the right locker
- the stern ladder is hidden in a special compartment under a hinged flat lid it does not take up valuable cockpit area and always ready for use when you need it
- on the inner walls of the cockpit and under it regular places for a boat hook and an oar are provided
- in a space under the cockpit a sliding locker-caboose is installed, which contain: gas stove, sink and two compartments for food and utensils
- there are double shelves for small and medium-sized things of crew members, totaling 117 liters, along both sides of a cabin
- there are also special lockers and shelves for dishes and yacht utensils
- in the yachts interior finish traditionally used "redwood " and teak for a deck
- fire ship shield is made of two halves, making it easy to put it up to lockers
5. Following the global trend, we increased height of freeboard, which gave:
- increase of the internal volume of the yacht on 5,5%, i.e on 384 dm. cub.
- achieved a state of comfort of small volume
- reduces "splashing" of the deck and increases comfort of the cockpit
- in combination with the original contours all this gives an increased stability to the boat
- the cockpit is made as large as possible for easy work of 3 people during a race, banks and "back", deck slope at the side are made for maximum comfort of sailors, the deck of thecockpit has a longitudinal-transverse foot rests made of teak.
6. In finishing of top ceiling of the superstructure a decorative coating is applied for the firs time ever that prevents a condensate formation, has a sound and heat insulation, soft for a touch, has an opportunity to get interesting color combinations and is able to withstand numerous cleaning and washing.
There are also such features as:
- the yacht is available in 3 versions: centre board and rudder blade, centerboard and rudder blade in keel version
- the boat, even at full load is not "pulling water" by transom, comes to a surfing mode even at wave 0.3-0.4 m and wind 7-8m/s
- handling, maneuverability and good stability
- a bowsprit is developed for cruising that allows to carry a gennaker 26 sq. m. in area and such a way significantly increases the speed - the most fascinating component of yachting.
- mosquito nets are provided for a fore, entrance and ventilation hatches
-completion of the yacht provides many options
7. Running rigging is complete with colored rope by ARMARE in two-level - complete set - basic and premium, where ropes of fibers Spectra, Dyneema are used. Blocks of the world's leading manufacturer-HARKEN. An original wiring of running rigging is designed on the mast, including shverttal and mainsheet does not require rail.
A picture of an Angel with a star and the brand name "Electra" are placed on the nose of the yacht. Electra is a star in Taurus, and Angel - Guardian Angel of Fyodor Ushakov, who spoke: For my devoted faith God gave me a Guardian Angel".
